An athlete from Lviv won a gold medal in the ski race

The annual World Masters Games are now held in Tirol. Athletes from different countries are vying for victory in 12 Olympic sports. More than 3,000 athletes came to Innsbruck in 2020.

Oksana Zalisko, a Ukrainian from Lviv, also participated in the competition. She won the skiing race in her age category. The woman reached the finish line 35 minutes earlier than the runner-up from Russia. The distance was 30 km.

Ms. Zalisko’s achievements were reported on the Lviv Regional State Administration website. It should be noted that the athlete in her life works as a senior teacher of the Department of Physical Education at the National University of Lviv Polytechnic.

The gold medal holder is convinced sports are essential for a healthy life for all. She remains active and willingly participates in other competitions. Therefore, in 2019, the teacher won the World Cup in cross-country skiing, competing in the category of sports veterans. The woman also won bronze in the 15km cross-country skiing race as part of the Ukrainian Ski World Championships held in 2017 between sports veterans.
