Artist Anna Sokolan presented several of her own works at the Lviv Icons Exhibition. The author says that they also help overcome difficulties and find healing.
Now you can get acquainted with such works as “The non-man-made image of Jesus Christ”, “The Virgin Mary of the Sevenfold”, “Christmas”. In each of them, the artist has masterfully combined the canons of iconography, faith, spirituality and Ukrainian traditions.
To write the icons, the artist used wooden planks, lined with acrylic primer, and acrylic paints. She believes that her work is endowed with some strength and capability.
According to the author, the work of “Christmas” will help a person in a difficult time of life and will help to gain peace of mind and balance.
Anna Sokolan describes her work as follows:
“I tried to convey the true atmosphere of Christmas: peace, angels, comfort, joyful news. I liked working with a variety of materials and invoices, combining these elements with each other »
The artist sought to convey the peace and warmth of Our Lady as a symbol of godliness, motherhood of well-being. The icon of Our Lady of the Sevenfold is designed to protect the home and its people. The Work of the Non-Creating Image of Jesus Christ is Created to Save the Soul and Heal.
The exhibition in Lviv is being held at the Ivan George Pinzel Museum and will continue until February 1st.
