Hospital district of Lviv organized a closed constituent meeting to discuss the functioning and development of intensive care medical institutions. The discussion was part of the first hospital board meeting.
I. Sobko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration in Lviv, chaired the meeting. He also chose two of his deputies and a secretary for the hospital board. They talked about organizing the collaboration of secondary and tertiary medicine hospitals with the National Health Service in Ukraine.
Mr. Sobko stated that medicine in Lviv is in a state where there are more workers than in patients in some medical institutions. He also noted that more money is allocated to medical institutions from the state budget than in the developed countries. The chairman of the hospital board also assured that they should now count every penny and control that the state funds were used to benefit patients.

In the course of the meeting, A. Vasko, who is the acting Head of Health at LODA, presented the development plan for the Lviv Hospital District to the attendees. The official says that the maximum attention will be paid to large medical institutions in Lviv region.
The Working Group already has experience in the ICU network. The methodology proposed by the Ministry was used to determine them. The network includes 9 institutions. Their list may be adjusted or expanded in line with the performance of NHS institutions.
Currently, these establishments prioritize the development of MACs to organize high-quality reception facilities. According to A. Vasko, this will allow you to get financing faster and get started.
During the discussion, it was noted that funding was needed to purchase equipment and refurbish the premises.
From now on, the hospital board will meet every month. The next meeting is already scheduled for February.
The purpose of the establishment of a hospital council in Lviv was to identify, with its help, problematic places, to coordinate measures to solve them, to develop proposals and recommendations for the organization of a state health policy in the hospital district. The council should also contribute to the provision of quality health care and the financing of district health care.
